Two women are arrested for trying to rob tourists of their belongings in Sosúa

PUERTO PLATA.- The Northern Regional Directorate of the National Police reported the arrest of two women accused of having tried to strip tourists of their belongings in the municipality of Sosúa.

The arrested women are those named Soribel Peña and Karina Santana, residents of the Maranatha sector of that town, according to Puerto Plata police spokesperson Rafael Eusebio Núñez (Felo Messón).

Both women were detained by a patrol in the Las Caobas sector of Sosúa when they were traveling aboard a black Loncin passola, who will be brought to justice in the next few hours.

In another police case, the named Fernando Laureano (a) Turón, 26, who entered a residence to rob a residence, was arrested in flagrante delicto on the main street of the Muñoz community.

The suspect broke into a glass window of the residence of Mr. Yony Alberto Sánchez Polanco, from where he stole three sink keys, 17 electrical sockets and three sink hoses.

According to what was learned, when questioned verbally by police investigators in relation to the incident, Laureano admitted having committed the criminal action for which he will be brought to justice.
