Two underage brothers drowned in Nisibón

two young men died drowned This Sunday afternoon, in the Maimón river, in the Charco La Bomba, in the Las Lagunas de Nisibón community, Higüey, La Altagracia province, when one was trying to save the other.

The victims were the brothers Jonathan and Johan Valenzuela Ramirez, 17 and 13 years old respectively. The young people lived in the Los Soto sector.

The minors were on a picnic with relatives and neighbors in the area.

According to the version of a family member, the teenagers were relaxing in relation to who was going to jump into the river first. The smallest jumped in first and, seeing that the older one asked for help, he also jumped to save his brother, but he couldn’t get out either.

According to the director of Civil Defense, Fernando Castillo, the body of Jonathan Valenzuela Ramírez, the oldest of the brothers, was recovered.

The search for the body of the other minor was suspended by the authorities and will continue tomorrow.

The place was presented, in addition to the Civil Defense, the local firefighters and the National Police.
