Two thirds of 30 candidates fall by the wayside in the selection of the Ombudsman

On the second day of qualification of merits to the candidates for Ombudsman, legislators reviewed 20 files and of that number only
eight applicants met the minimum of six requirements;
who added to the two on Monday would result in only 10 classified for the interview out of a total of 30 candidates, the Chamber of Senators officially reported.

The 20 files reviewed this Tuesday were: Pedro Francisco Callisaya Aro, Claudia Andrea Calvo Campos, Estefanía Yhoselín Camargo Usnayo, Inocencio Chambi Churata, Luisa Antonia Chipana Ubaras, Wilber Choque Cruz, Prosper Daniel Choque Calizaya, Willy Rogelio Chura Chambi, Jorge Condor Bolivia Ajata, Evelin Patricia Cossío Márquez and Santiago Condori Apaza.

In addition, reviewed the merits of: Marisol Cuentas Ticona, Iván Félix Cuevas Paucara, Hernán Hermes Dávalos Rengel, Guadalupe Daza Capo, Freddy Delgadillo Pérez, Humberto Echalar Flores, Rubén Julio Estrada Candia, Ramiro Leonardo Iquise Pally and Freddy German Lima Castaño.

According to the review of the resumes of the candidates, Callisaya Aro, was dnational director of real rights until February 2022; before that, he was Member of the Departmental Court of Justice of La Paz in 2021. His experience in the defense of human rights comes from his work at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in 2017 and in 2012 he was national head of the Citizen Services unit of the Ombudsman’s Office.

Claudia Calvo Campos, submitted his resume asiRector of International Relations of the municipality of Sucre until 2021 and before that she was legal advisor at the Corporation of the Armed Forces for National Development (Cofadena) until 2019.

Estefania Camargo Usnayois a public official of the Ministry of Transparency where she served as “tTechnician in Youth Rights Approach” and then went to the MMinistry of Education where he worked until 2021.

Innocent Chambi Churata, He is a police officer by profession and was in the institution of order until December 2021. He is a lawyer, but he has been a police officer all his life.

Luisa Chipana Ubaras, highlights her work as part of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (Unodc) where she held different positions and was linked to that entity until December 2021. Before that, she was part of the Ombudsman’s Office and director of the regime penitentiary in Pando.

Wilber Clash Cross He qualified in the first phase despite the fact that he is an elected authority in 2017 and the call prohibited the presentation of the elected authorities eight years earlier, since 2017 only five years have passed. He worked in various state entities since 2002, after serving as Counselor of the Judiciary he held a position in the Ombudsman’s Office until 2019.

Prosper Choque Calizayais a lawyer who was never linked to the State, he was always working in the private sphere, sHis last position was managing director of the Cristo de las Américas hospital.

Willy Chura Chambi was advisor of the Unit of Medicines and Technologies of the Ministry of Health when Nila Heredia was Minister, after that she dedicated herself to the free profession of lawyer.​

Jorge Condor Bolivia Ajatais an independent lawyer from 2008 to date.

Evelin Cossio Marquez She did not work in the State, her work as an advisor to the Departmental Association of Coca Producers (Adepcoca) stands out, she was a lawyer for the leaders persecuted by the Government, Franklin Gutiérrez among them.

Santiago Condori Apazais the only candidate who was rehabilitated because he challenged his disqualification in the first phase.

freddy delgadillo perezyesHe was always linked to public government activity, he was almost a permanent official of the National Productive and Social Investment Fund (FPS) in Cochabamba, mainly in the tropics of that department.

Humberto Echalar Floreswas also enabled despite having been Vice Minister of Citizen Security, dependent on the Ministry of Government, and held that position until 2016, he was a Police officer.

Ruben Estrada Candiais a lawyer who has been linked to the Government since 2007, worked in four ministries: Labor, Government, Presidency and Health, occupying different positions, even so he reached this stage.

Ramiro Iquise Pallyalso a government official, was in the Ministry of Justice since 2011, he was sent to El Alto as a national consultant in special programs where he was until March 31 of this year.

Freddy Lima Castano, was the last file reviewed, also a government official in the Ministry of Public Works, where he worked in the department of legal advice as a notifier and approved employment contracts.
