Both people are now in the Ecatepec Regional Prosecutor’s Office and will be admitted to the Chiconautla Prison this Sunday.
Both state and federal security elements were involved in this arrest. Agents from the Navy and the Army were also present.
On July 21, Milton Morales Figueroa was murdered in Coacalco, State of Mexico, by a man who shot him in the head while he was in a store where he was going to buy food.
The commissioner was part of the team of Omar García Harfuch, who as of October 1 will be Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, so he supposedly appointed Morales Figueroa to head some security area.
Among the most relevant cases handled by Morales Figueroa was the attack in December 2022 against journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva, who was shot while traveling in his truck, but survived thanks to the fact that the vehicle was armored.
He also investigated the attack against Omar García Harfuch, committed in June 2020, when, as Secretary of Citizen Security of the capital, he was intercepted by an armed commando while he was traveling in a van towards the Old City Hall to go to the Security Cabinet of the City Government.
