The substitute criminal judge of the 27th Shift, María Sol Bellomo, decided to imprison the soldiers Rombys and Maciel, for a crime of “very especially aggravated homicide in real repetition, with crimes of abuse of authority against the detainees.”

Luis “Nucho” Batalla Piedrabuena was a construction worker and member of the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), one of the founders of the Broad Front in 1971.

He died after being subjected to torture in the barracks of the department of Treinta y Tres, in May 1972, before the coup d’état of June 27, 1973.
