NEW YORK.- A shooting that occurred during a party early Tuesday morning in the Bronx left two men seriously injured, although authorities have not yet revealed their identities or nationalities.
The incident took place in the building located on Walton Avenue and 149th Street, an area where hundreds of Hispanics reside, including Dominicans.
It started when two of the attendees argued and one of them pulled out a firearm and fired 9 shots, which immediately caused a rush, shouting, tables and chairs rolling everywhere; broken bottles, glasses and paintings, among other things, according to the authorities.
New York police are still searching for the gunman and his companions, and it is not known whether the shooter and the victim knew each other.
A surveillance video captured the moment of the incident. Neighbors say they are not surprised that something like this happened in the area. They say the parties nearby have been going on since January and have completely changed the neighborhood.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477 or 1-888-577-4782. The public can also send comments by email. https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or at X @NYPDTips. All calls are strictly confidential.
