Cubans Anisleydi Galindo and Yamara Amargo were offensive axes in the two victories of Regias de Santiago at the beginning of the Mexican Women’s Professional Basketball League.
Galindo from Pinar del Río scored 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the first 88-68 victory over Algodoneras de la Comarca, defending Torreón, Coahuila state, during the first date of the tournament that brings together 16 teams divided into the Mexican and National conferences .
The Amargo from Sancti Spiritus signed 22 units, in a union that seems to be above the average in that basketball.
This Sunday, by repeating the victory but 83-69, the two Antilleans also led the attack with Amargo scoring 24 points and Galindo scoring 17, according to statistics on the official website.
With these performances as locals at the Multipurpose Gymnasium in Santiago, state of Nuevo León, the Cuban duo took the lead in several departments.
Galindo is the top scorer with 54, the best rebounder with 19 and has the most assists with nine.
Amargo is second in points with 46 and first in triples made with eight.
Next weekend the Regias will visit Racers de Saltillo, also representative of Cohauila.
That contest will be played until May 30.
