Colima, Col., María Eugenia Delgado, Queñaand her daughter Sheila Amezcua Delgado, aunt and cousin, respectively, of the federal Secretary of Education, Mario Delgado, were shot to death in their home, in the Placetas Estadio neighborhood of this city, police sources announced.
According to the report from the state Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), several armed men entered the house of both women around 4:30 a.m. yesterday and shot them.
In a statement, the SSP added that after the attack, authorities located three alleged perpetrators, who died in a scuffle. An element of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Colima was injured.
Queña and Sheila were dedicated to making and selling cakes and food in the house where they were killed.
In the bulletin it was explained that thanks to the monitoring provided by the Coordination, Command, Control, Communications, Computing and Intelligence Center of Colima, it was possible to identify the vehicle used and some of the alleged perpetrators.
Given this, a search operation was initiated that yielded positive results hours later, as the light blue Chevrolet Groove car was located outside a home in the Punta Diamante neighborhood, in the municipality of Villa de Álvarez.
Upon the arrival of the elements of the different corporations that participated in the action, they were attacked with gunshots and repelled the aggression. Three alleged criminals were killed and an FGE member was shot, but is out of danger.

Agents from the Investigative Police (PDI) cordoned off the area; Inside the house they found weapons and various evidence that coincides with the information obtained in the video analysis, including the clothing that the individuals used to commit the murder and a marro.
The facts are investigated with the feminicide protocol and the principles of gender perspective, the SSP reported.
Last night, Mario Delgado expressed his “deep dismay, indignation and sadness at the events that occurred this morning in Colima where my aunt Eugenia Delgado and my cousin Sheila were brutally murdered in their home.”
On her X account, she added: “Throughout my childhood, my aunt Queñaas we affectionately called him, he prepared my birthday cake for me. This is how she made her living, working hard, selling delicious pastries and Colima food as only she knew how to prepare it. He is already with my grandparents and my father, his spoiled brother.”
He sent a “hug with great affection and solidarity to my uncles, aunts, cousins, cousins, nephews and especially to my cousin Alex,” and said he was sure that the case would be clarified and justice would be done.
