Santo Domingo – The First Collegiate Court sentenced two Dominican officers and another man of Mexican nationality to 30 years in prison, guilty of trying to pass 21 packages of cocaine through the José Francisco Peña Gómez Las Américas International Airport (AILA), an event that occurred in November 2022.
The condemned, former officers of the National PoliceWilly Raúl de Óleo Encarnación, Emmanuel de Jesús Torres Batista, and the Mexican Iván de Jesús Estopier Rodríguez, must serve the payment of one million pesos and the sentence at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center, while Estopier Rodríguez was transferred to the La Victoria National Penitentiary.
The defendants were found guilty of the crimes of criminal association and illicit drug trafficking during an investigation carried out by the Public Ministry and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD).
The prosecutor in charge Welinston Gómez presented sufficient evidence to demonstrate the criminal responsibility of the accused.

According to the Public Ministry, the three men violated the provisions of the Dominican Penal Code and Law 50-88, on drugs and controlled substances.
According to the investigation, carried out by prosecutors Kilsy M. Benítez Florián and Wilson Zabala, the organization operated in a drug trafficking network from Mexico and Colombia to the Dominican Republic, using international airports as a smuggling route.
