A robbery affected a money exchange house at the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, for an amount of 20 million pesos, reported Radio Cooperativa.
The incident occurred on Saturday night, when two people arrived at the place pretending to be clients, and threatened the worker with a firearm.
After completing the robbery, they left the place. Other people tried to stop them at the exit, without success. They fled aboard a vehicle that was waiting for them outside.
Guillermo Cárcamo, inspector of the Western Robbery Brigade of the PDI, explained that “a series of statements are being made to the workers of the exchange house as well as airport security”, until obtaining more information of interest regarding both responsible.
“Citizens are called upon to have greater protection measures to avoid this type of crime,” he said.
