A helicopter with four people crashed in the municipality of Caieiras, in Greater São Paulo. The wreckage and victims were located this Friday morning (17). Civil Defense confirmed the death of two people who were on board. Two others were rescued alive – the pilot and a child.
At around 8:34 pm yesterday (16), the aircraft lost its GPS (Global Positioning System) signal, Civil Defense reported. The destination was the city of Americana, in the interior of São Paulo.
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) reported that investigators from the Fourth Regional Service for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Seripa IV), a regional body of the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa), were called to carry out the initial action in the incident. .
According to the FAB, the initial action involves collecting and confirming data, preserving elements, initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft, or by the aircraft, and gathering other information necessary for the investigation.
The names of the people who were on board the aircraft have not yet been released.
