Nicaraguans Deyvin Ivan Villagra Rugama, originally from San José de Bocay, and Luis Centeno, from Santa María de Pantasma, died of intoxication last Thursday, November 25, in the US city of Cincinnati.
According to the testimony of Jasmir Sevilla, the two pinoleros emigrated to the United States four months ago.
“They were working on remodeling homes, on Thursday they went to work as usual, but at around 8 at night they disconnected from their social networks, they no longer answered the calls we made and we assume that they only it was about their work occupations ”, details Sevilla.

On November 28, they found both Nicaraguans lifeless in the place where they worked. According to investigations by the authorities of that country, the death was due to intoxication since the migrants fell asleep and left a power plant on to mitigate the cold. but the carbon monoxide killed them, since they were in an enclosed space. It is believed that Deyvin Iván tried to open a window, but he fell face down to the ground and died there.
Jasmir Sevilla assured that they shared an apartment in the state of Cincinnati in the United States and was very sorry for the death of their companions.

The victims were transferred to the morgue of that town and now another drama begins, as their relatives hope to repatriate them to their places of origin in Jinotega.
The organization of Texas Nicaragua Community (TNC) was contacted by the family of one of the victims requesting assistance and accompaniment to repatriate the body, since a funeral home charged them $20,000 for doing this.
