Two new commissions are added in the second meeting on the national pact in the face of the Haitian crisis

Santo Domingo.- Within the framework of the second meeting headed by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, together with the national political leadership and academics and intellectuals, two new commissions were established that will continue with the call for the international community to deal with the Haitian crisis, which directly affects the Dominican Republic.

Both commissions will be coordinated by the commission of foreign policy formed during the first work meeting, together with the other three on border control, migration policy and economic impact.

In addition, the purpose of these new commissions, whose members must be defined by Monday, March 20, will be to visit different international organizations in which USA and Europe, with a “firm decision to draw attention to the importance of the international community assuming the Haitian issue.”

This was reported by the member of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Eddy Olivares, upon leaving the second meeting that is being held with a view to reaching a great national pact for the protection and defense of sovereignty.

Olivarez pointed out that the representatives of the commissions They will go to the Organization of American States (OAS), the United Nations Organization (UN), the Capitol, located in Washington DC, as well as the European community, among entities and places.

The political leader described the meeting as a productive space in which the fundamental axes will be handled to lead the work towards the great national pact and that the call to all political parties to participate is maintained.

On behalf of the government, the ministers, Administrative of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; of Defense, Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa; Interior and Police, Jesús Vásquez; the Director of Migration, Venancio Alcántara; the Administrative Vice Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Lugo, among others.
