Bissau. Police in Guinea-Bissau seized a shipment of drugs on a plane from Mexico yesterday and arrested five of its passengers, the local security force reported.
Among those arrested at Osvaldo Vieira airport in the West African nation’s capital, Bissau, are two Mexicans, a Brazilian and an Ecuadorian, police said. They are being held by the Bissau judicial police and the U.S. anti-drug agency, it added.
The authorities did not specify the amount of drugs seized, but stated that It is the most important interception since the beginning of the year

Guinea-Bissau, a former Portuguese colony, is considered by security experts to be a transit point in West Africa for cocaine from South America to Europe.
The Cuini returns to the Altiplano
Likewise, Abigael Gonzalez Valencia, The Cuinileader of the criminal group Los Cuinis, brother-in-law of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, The Mencho, and one of the financial leaders of the Jalisco cartel New Generation (CJNG), was transferred from the Santa Martha prison to Cefereso number 1, El Altiplano. Over the past five years, he has filed multiple appeals to avoid being extradited to the United States.
González Valencia was arrested in May 2015 and sent to El Altiplano, in Almoloya, State of Mexico, where he remained until August 2017, when he was transferred to Cefereso 14, in Gómez Palacio, Durango. He was then again interned in El Altiplano and, subsequently, from February to July 2019, he was in the Reclusorio Norte. He was later returned to El Altiplano, where he remained until May 2021; from where he arrived at the Santa Martha prison.
