The 1st Control Court of Miranda decreed a sentence of 20 years in prison for Ángel Adrián Rodrigo Díaz (19) and Roniher Leandro Collins Pereda (18) after admitting their responsibility in the murder of Dinorah Martínez Marín (64), reported the Public Ministry.
This event occurred on March 18 in a house located in the Camatagua sector of the Guaicaipuro municipality (Los Teques), Miranda.
It is worth noting that, for this act, a 17-year-old adolescent was also sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
According to the investigation, in the early hours of that day, the attackers entered the victim’s residence through a balcony, with the intention of appropriating her belongings. While the event was taking place, those convicted today surprised the sixty-year-old in the kitchen of the house. There they gagged, tied and suffocated her to death.
Next, they found the victim’s daughter, who was also tied hand and foot; in addition to leaving her unconscious when she recognized one of her victimizers. Before fleeing the place, they stole 10,000 US dollars and three telephones, said the Prosecutor’s Office.
The attackers were apprehended on March 20 by officials of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps to be left at the order of the Public Ministry.
In the preliminary hearing, the 1st Prosecutor’s Office of that jurisdiction charged Díaz and Collins Pereda with the commission of qualified homicide in the execution of a robbery to the detriment of Martínez Marín; qualified homicide in the execution of a robbery in degree of frustration to the detriment of the daughter of the deceased; conspiracy, illegitimate deprivation of liberty, use of adolescent to commit a crime.
For its part, the 15th Prosecutor’s Office, with jurisdiction over the Criminal Responsibility of Adolescents in that jurisdiction, charged the young man with the types of criminal offenses previously mentioned, according to the MP.
