SABANA DE LA MAR – The Collegiate Court of the Department of Justice of Hato Mayor sentenced this Wednesday to 30 and 20 years in prison two men who on December 3, 2020 arrived at a house in the Pajarito sector in Sabana de la Mar and in presence of her husband raped a woman and then stole clothing and money at gunpoint.
The defendants are Juan Manuel Salas (El Lobo), 32, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison, while his companion Juan José Ferreira, 22, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The Judicial device establishes that they will pay the sentence in the El Seibo Public Prison, since there is no enclosure in Hato Mayor to house the inmates processed in court for various causes.
According to the sentence, they were found guilty of the crimes of association of malefactors, attempted homicide, aggravated robbery, rape and possession of an illegal firearm to the detriment of Messrs. Ramón Alcides Rodríguez and Santa Cornelio.

The events took place in the coastal municipality of Sabana de la Mar when the subjects entered the house at approximately 5:10 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, managing to hold the husband and children at gunpoint, while forcing the young woman woman to have sex in front of him and his children.
The husband in an oversight managed to mark a friend and with an indirect conversation with the criminals, the friend was able to realize what was happening, informing the national police, who immediately went to the house.
The assailants, noticing the arrival of the police, fired a shot at them, managing to leave the scene, but when they were pursued they were arrested.
At the time of his capture, he was seized with a 9mm caliber Browining pistol, serial 215RP11791, several cell phones, wallets with cash, and a black/white Nipponia motor, with an unreadable chassis.
Relatives of the victims expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision.
