two men were condemned to 20 years in prison in separate cases of sexual abuse and assault against girls, in sentences handed down by courts in La Vega and Santo Domingo Este, after accepting the evidence presented by the Public Ministry.
In La Vega, the Second Collegiate Court condemned Victor Manuel Acosta Martealias Lencho, by sexually assault on several occasions to a 10-year-old girl.
According to the accusation, the accused committed the abuse when the minor was alone in her home and threatened with killing her and her family if she reported the crime.
The Public Ministry said in a press release that evaluations by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) confirmed the attacks.
The court ordered Acosta Marte to serve his sentence at the El Pinito Correction and Rehabilitation Center and imposed a fine of 100,000 pesos. The convicted person has criminal recordincluding a conviction previous 20 years for murder and drug crimes.

- In another case, the Second Collegiate Court Santo Domingo Este condemned Luis Miguel Cuevas Gómezmember of the National Army, for sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl, in the 2024 in it The Three Arms sector.
The case against the soldier began after a complaint from the minor’s mother, who received the victim’s direct confession. “The evaluations carried out on the girl, by specialized personnel, were consistent with the revelations made to the mother and supported the actions committed by her aggressor,” said the Public Ministry.
