Monte Plata.- The judges of the Collegiate Court of this province sentenced two men to serve sentences of eight and five years in prison for engaging in drug trafficking in separate proceedings.
The Dominican Michael de León Moreno was sentenced to eight years in prison and the Haitian Esmelno Josep to five years, after they were found guilty in separate proceedings, for violating the provisions contained in Articles 5, literal A; 6, literal A; 28, 29 and 75, paragraph II, of Law 50-88, on Drugs and Controlled Substances.
In the case of De León Moreno, the judges ordered the incineration of the substances seized from him, consisting of 50.66 grams of hydrochloric cocaine, 26.71 grams of marijuana, and 868 milligrams of crack.

While, with respect to Josep, the burning of 17.38 grams of marijuana, 17.37 grams of hydrochloric cocaine and 14.35 grams of crack was ordered.
The accusations presented in both cases by prosecutor Lydia Edita Herrera del Rosario were accepted by judges Hilda Nieves Sánchez Luna, Isaías Ronaldo Martínez Pérez, Johanna Giselle Reyes Moquete and Madeline Genao Valdez.
With the evidence provided by the Public Ministry, it was shown that the defendants were arrested in flagrante delicto by agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD).
