Two people were killed on Wednesday when a man shot at a McDonald’s restaurant in Zwolle (north), police and media in the Netherlands said.
“Two people were killed in a shootout,” police said on Twitter, and local radio RTL Oost said the incident occurred at 6:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. GMT).
Witnesses said that the victims were eating in the restaurant when an armed man entered and fired.
The attacker fled. Police and rescue services intervened, rescuers tried to revive one of the injured, but without success.
The police launched a call for witnesses to testify and closed the area, which was being flown over by a helicopter.
