Santo Domingo West. – Two homes were affected by a fire last Monday afternoon caused by a short circuit, according to witnesses, on Calle 5 # 19, Libertador de Herrera, in the back of this district.
«At around 3:30 pm, an Edesur brigade came to cut off the power, and a short circuit occurred, causing a fire in my neighbor’s house behind us and then in my house, leaving us without our belongings, but we thank God that nothing happened to us, and we call on Edesur to be more careful and know how to carry out the work in the areas where they go,» said Liondri Canario, one of those affected.
In addition to Mrs. Canario, Mr. Julio Antonio Ramírez and Mr. Erick Figuereo Reyes were also affected. A daycare center operates next to the houses, but was not affected.
The Santo Domingo Oeste Fire Brigade and 911 units arrived at the scene approximately one hour later. The fire was extinguished a few minutes after the brigade arrived.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, only material losses, since the fire destroyed the belongings in both homes.
