Two golds mark penultimate day of the Paralympic Swimming World Cup

Brazil won two more gold medals this Friday (17), on the penultimate day of the Paralympic Swimming World Championship, which is held at the Funchal Olympic Swimming Pool Complex, on Madeira Island (Portugal). The victories were obtained by the 49-point 4×100-meter freestyle relay team, for visually impaired athletes, and by Gabriel Araújo, from Minas Gerais, Gabrielzinho, in the 50-meter backstroke of the S2 class.Two golds mark penultimate day of the Paralympic Swimming World Cup

In addition to the gold medals, the Brazilian team added another silver this Friday, with José Ronaldo da Silva in the 50-meter backstroke of the S1 class, and three bronzes, in the 4×100-meter medley S14 relay (intellectual disability), with Mariana Gesteira in the 100-meter backstroke (S9) and Phelipe Rodrigues in the 100 meters freestyle (S10).

These achievements kept Brazil in third place in the overall medal table, with a total of 47 awards (17 gold, nine silver and 21 bronze).
