Two former PDVSA managers released

For serving the sentence to which they were sentenced, the Fifteenth Court of First Instance in Execution Function of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Caracas declared full freedom for the former managers of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) Aryenis Torrealba and Alfredo Chirinos.

According to the notice issued by the court, the judicial body declared the extinction of the criminal responsibility of both persons for serving the five-year prison sentence.

In February 2021, a court issued a substitute measure for deprivation of liberty for Torrealba and Chirinos, after they were charged with the crimes of disclosure, reservation or supply of information.

Alfredo Chirinos worked as manager of Special Operations and Aryenis Torrealba was manager of Crude Oil Operations, positions that were assigned to the management of Trade and Supply of Petróleos de Venezuela.
