Two firefighters died after colliding their vehicle with a LATAM airline plane that was taking off for a domestic flight from the Lima airport, it was officially reported.
“Lima Airport Partners deeply regrets the loss of life of two members of the LAP Aeronautical Fire Department in the accident that occurred this afternoon between a fire engine and the aircraft that served flight LA2213 that covered the Lima-Juliaca route,” according to reported Lima Airport Partners (LAP), operator of the international airport of the Peruvian capital, the AFP news agency specified.

As reported by LAP on its Twitter account, the deceased were identified as Ángel Torres, from the Garibaldi 6 fire company; and Nicolás Santa Gadea, from the Garibaldi 7 company.
For this fact, the airport reported that all operations are suspended until Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
For its part, the airline LATAM Peru indicated on its Twitter account that “there are no passengers or crew members deceased” after the incident occurred.
