The dominican authorities extradited to the United States two citizens wanted for different criminal charges, reported the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) in a press release.
According to the note, the delivery was made through the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), in coordination with the United States Marshals Serviceas part of international cooperation agreements.
The extradited are Cristian Abreualias “Chapo”, and Louis Junior Rodríguez Serranoalso identified as Lowi Junior Rodríguez Marte. Both were transferred to the custody of special units to the Las Americas International Airport (AILA-JFPG), where they were handed over to US officials who took them on a flight to North American territory.
What are they accused of?
According to the statement, Cristian Abreu is required by United States authorities to respond to charges of criminal association to commit heistcomplicity and use, carrying and possession of firearms, in violation of several articles of the Code of that country.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez Serrano faces charges before the District Court of New Jersey for alleged electronic fraud, fraud by postal mail and money laundering.
The extradition of both was authorized by the decrees of the Executive Branch numbers 53-26 and 41-26which arrange for their formal delivery to face the corresponding judicial processes.
The DNCD highlighted that these actions are part of the strengthening of search and capture operations for international fugitives, within the framework of the bilateral cooperation to combat drug trafficking and transnational crime.
