Two people died and one disappeared in the municipality of Santos Michelena (Las Tejerías), Aragua, due to floods derived from the last rainyCivil Protection reported.
Since this Saturday night, the intense and prolonged rains caused the overflow from the Los Patos ravine that borders Las Tejerías, Carlos Pérez Ampueda, vice minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, reported on his Twitter account.
Pérez Ampueda indicated that the National Risk Management System is deployed in Las Tejerías attending to the contingency due to the effects of the tropical wave that affects Venezuela.
“Affectations due to sediments, fallen trees and debris in the Industrial Zone, Casco Central and El Beisbol neighborhood,” the Vice Minister wrote when describing the situation in Las Tejerías.
“Search and rescue operations are running. For the moment without electricity, ”said Pérez Ampueda at 10:12 pm this Saturday, according to what is read on his Twitter account.
Meanwhile, at 7 am on Saturday, the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace published a report indicating that tropical storm Julia is located in the western Caribbean, 375 km from the island of Providencia, Colombia. It has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h and is moving west at 30 km/h. “This system does not represent a risk for Venezuela,” concludes the brief report from the Ministry.

After the intense rains, all the tributaries have overflowed: Tuy River, Los Patos stream, Curiepe, Brisas de Aragua, which has caused serious damage to various homes that were swept away by the force of the water, reported a note from the Ministry for Communication and Information.
Faced with this situation, Civil Protection Aragua officials, Firefighters and state security forces are in the area to directly attend to the affected communities.
Likewise, the governor of Aragua state, Karina Carpio, was present at the scene to verify the serious damage caused by the heavy rainfall in Las Tejerías and to provide timely responses to the affected population.
