Two deaths and 3 wounded were the result of a shooting during an alleged kidnapping attempt of four Colombians in the municipality of Pimentel, Duarte province.
The dead were identified as Carlos Humberto Núñez Santos (La Pula) and Eddy Luis Ureña Ortega, 25 years old, both Dominicans.
It was reported that Núñez Santos died at the scene of the incident and had at least two bullet wounds, while Ureña Ortega died while receiving care at the San Vicente de Paúl hospital in San Francisco de Macorís.
While the injured are Edward Ureña Gómez, Esmerlin Rojas and a man only identified as Quilvio, who receive care at the aforementioned health center.
According to preliminary data, agents of police intervened in an attempted kidnapping of several Colombian citizens, who are detained for investigation purposes.
