With two days to go before school work begins in Bolivia, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported 2,083 new cases of coronavirus, which seems to indicate a frank drop in positivity of the pandemic in the last two weeks.
This Sunday, La Paz registered the highest number of people who tested positive for coronavirus with 938 cases, Santa Cruz 339, Cochabamba 273, Potosí 163, Chuquisaca 149, Oruro 110, Tarija 48, Beni 35 and Pando with 28 cases. It should be noted that weekend data is always less than business days and, as explained by the authorities, this is because the laboratories do not work at full capacity.
In this way, the country reached 852,280 people who tested positive for Covid-19 in the 22 months that the pandemic lasts. In 2021 Bolivia closed the year with 576,602 positive cases and in these 30 days of the first month of 2022 the accumulated global figure is 275,678 infected people.
In the case of deaths, on December 31, 2021 Bolivia registered 19,546 deaths and at the end of January 2022 that number already reaches 20,919, which means that in 30 days 1,373 people died. The presence of schoolchildren in establishments means the agglomeration of people, which the Government intends to avoid, since it instructed that, for the time being, classes in capital cities be virtual; while in the rural area they will be face-to-face and semi-face-to-face.
In the case of the recovered, the figures are improving. ANDThis Sunday Cochabamba presented the most optimistic numbers with 2,406 recovered, then Santa Cruz with 2,039, Chuquisaca 1,608, La Paz 320, Oruro 156, Tarija 87, Potosí 29; while Beni and Pando reported that they have no recovered people. Which means that this Sunday there were 6,645 patients who defeated the virus. Thus, the number of recovered reached 689,259 people throughout the country.
