Two criminals killed in confrontation with the police in Carayaca

Two criminals were killed in a confrontation between police officers from La Guaira and members of the “Los Macacos” and “Los Catiritos” gangs, in a sector of the Carayaca parish.

Members of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of the Government of La Guaira carried out a police deployment in the area due to the increase in thefts and robberies reported by residents in the sectors of Tarma, La Virgencita, Tirima, El Cohete and Anare.

During the operation, the uniformed officers found the whereabouts of the two subjects, who were on La Granja street in the La Virgencita sector.

The criminals drew their weapons and fired them at the uniformed men. They have not yet been identified by police forces.

In the exchange of shots, the subjects were injured so they were taken to the Eudoro González Hospital where they died minutes after admission.

The Secretary of Citizen Security, Andrés Goncalves, reported that 2 firearms were seized, a Smith & Wesson caliber .357 Magnum and an unmarked shotgun.
