The National Government received two proposals to conclude the works of the Trunk of Magdalena 2, a project of the Bicentennial Concessions – 5G which seeks to consolidate a dual carriageway corridor from the municipality of Sabana de Torres (Santander) to Curumaní (Cesar), along 268.4 km.

The signatures that were presented are Sacyr Concessions Colombia S.A.S. Y Plural Structure Middle Magdalena Highway, made up of KMA Construcciones SAS (50%) and Ortiz Construcciones y Proyectos SA (50%).
“With this initiative we are going to consolidate a dual carriageway corridor along 531 km, because with the Trunks of Magdalena 1 and 2 we are going to improve the connection between the interior and the north coast of the country”, indicated Ángela María Orozco, Minister of Transport.
The National Infrastructure Agency, with the presentation of the offers, closes the period for interested parties to participate in the public tender and proceeds to verify the requirements to start the evaluation stage. Therefore, the entity will review the proposals and the requirements requested to participate in the bidding process.

The schedule stipulates that the public adjudication hearing be held on June 8, 2022. Envelope Number 2 will be opened on that date, prior to the publication phase of the document with the responses to the observations and counter-observations to the initial evaluation report, to culminate with the publication of the final results.
“Investors continue to show their interest in the projects in charge of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), we saw it with the presentation of seven offers to build the Magdalena 1 trunk line and we see it now with this corridor that goes from Sabana de Torres to Curumani. This ratifies the trust and solidity that infrastructure projects have”, said Diana Cardona, president (e) of the ANI.
