Two Argentines died in a head-on collision in Uruguay

Two Argentines died and seven other compatriots were injured, two of them seriously, when two cars collided near the Uruguayan resort of Manantialesin the department of Maldonado, reported firefighters.

According to the police sources consulted, heThe deceased Argentines are Micaela Trinidad and Josefina Ferrero, who were traveling in a Ford Ka car and died instantly.

Meanwhile, Melina Larbururu, 27, was in serious condition, as was Nicolás Rocas, who suffered polytrauma and blunt trauma to the abdomen. Both were admitted to the Cantegrill Sanatorium.

In the car Ford KA “the death was confirmed at the scene by a mobile medical emergency, of the driver Micaela Trinidad and her companion Josefina Ferraro. The remaining Melina Labururu and Camila Palacios were referred to a private hospital in serious condition,” details a statement from the Maldonado Police Headquarters cited by Uruguayan media.

The accident occurred at 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday, when a Ford Ka car with “Argentine registration” and four people on board, one man and three women, collided head-on with a Volkswagen Nivus vehicle where five Argentines were traveling.

As a result of the impact, two women who were traveling in the Ford Ka died.

According to the official report of the Maldonado fire department, there was “a frontal collision between two light vehicles, on Route No. 104 at the corner of Las Ballenas, near Manantiales.”

He also indicated that four other people, two men and two women, suffered minor injuries.

After the accident, members of the Barra de Maldonado and San Carlos fire departments worked.

“The crash is being investigated by the scientific police” to determine the causes, sources consulted by Télam indicated.

Josefina Ferrero, 27, a native of the city of San Justo in the province of Santa Fe, was traveling in the passenger seat of the Fork KA, in which Micaela Trinidad, also 27, was also traveling.

Both deceased were models and were very active on social networkswhere they had thousands of followers.
