The documentary Brazilian Sea reveals an ocean of stories and discoveries with professionals and activists who share their intimate relationships with the waters and their actions in favor of coastal conservation. The independent production is shown by TV Brasil this Sunday (25), at 11am. Directed by oceanographer and writer Katharina Grisotti, an impact communicator who guides the narrative, the film takes a trip to several destinations on the coast of the country to follow the work carried out by interviewees with inspiring stories.
The audiovisual attraction brings captivating and moving testimonials that encourage reflection. The conversation includes surfer Tainá Hinckel, researcher Camila Brasil, analyst Kelen Leite, oceanographer Rafael Langello, environmental engineer Diulie Tavares and biologists Natalia Della Fina and Carla Beatriz Barbosa.
The guests show, in practice, many projects developed in Brazil in search of solutions for ocean degradation. Experts discuss strategies to raise awareness about the relationship between human beings and the environment and ways to engage the population in favor of the cause.
Among the alarming data raised in the 52-minute film, problems related to marine pollution come into focus. Each Brazilian can be responsible for taking around 16 kg of plastic to the seas per year and a third of the plastic produced in the country is at risk of reaching the oceans.
The coastal journey covers places that maintain biodiversity, highlights the complexity of coral reefs and explains the challenges with disposing of marine litter. With surprising images, the production reinforces the intrinsic connection between humanity and the ocean.
With concrete examples, the doc highlights the importance of environmental awareness and the role of each citizen in preserving coastal ecosystems. The idea is to share actions that reduce the social impact on nature. The work seeks to encourage multipliers who believe in and make a difference in building a better world.
