With a keen photographic eye on Brazilian fauna, the documentary series Rastro dos Bichos highlights endangered species. THE independent production is shown on TV Brasil programming in a marathon format, daily, starting this Monday (2), at 3 pm.
In five 26-minute editions, the series follows one species per episode. The sequence shown on the public channel’s small screen shows the Lear’s macaw, the golden lion tamarin, the maned wolf, the jaguar and the dolphin.
By uniting nature and culture, the proposal is to present the ecological community of animals and their relationships with the human beings with whom they share space. The work brings the testimony of researchers from different scientific areas and also from traditional communities and peoples who live with these animals on a daily basis.
In the first two programs, the series sheds light on the Lear’s Macaw and the sertanejo and Pankararé peoples in the Bahian caatinga, the golden lion tamarin and the rural communities and remnants of quilombos in the Atlantic Forest in Rio de Janeiro.
Next, the series Rastro dos Bichos highlights the maned wolf and the population of the Minas Gerais cerrado, the jaguar that lives in the Pantanal region and the Guarani-Kaiowá people, in Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to the dolphin, caiçaras and quilombolas in Guanabara Bay and Sepetiba, in Rio de Janeiro.
The audiovisual work developed through the Prodav Public TVs notice was produced by Cambará Filmes, a producer in Amazonas.
The series is directed by Sérgio Lobato and executive produced by Bruno Villela. The attraction’s script is written by both of them together with Adriano Gamparini, a photographer who appears in front of the cameras to visit the locations and illustrate the program with unique perspectives of Brazilian animals.
Valuing independent content
The series Rastro dos Bichos is presented by TV Brasil in the daily afternoon slot, at 3pm. Documentary production is one of the audiovisual contents selected by the Audiovisual Sector Fund (FSA) funding line, through Prodav TVs Públicas.
THE TV Brasil is one of the channels that shows the most national independent content. In addition to being a great supporter of the production of attractions of this nature in the country’s audiovisual market, the broadcaster encourages new filmmakers.
