O producer of TV Brazil Wahby Khalil, assaulted in the condominium where he lives in the neighborhood of Águas Claras, in Brasília, left the hospital today (22), shortly after 2 pm. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hospital Santa Lucia, where he underwent dental surgery after being punched in the face, falling and hitting his head on the floor.
Wahby Kahlil spoke to Brazil Agency about aggression. “I had a hemorrhage in the head as a sequel and I underwent surgery in the mouth to deal with broken upper teeth and facial dislocation. The issue of bleeding in the head is still a very sensitive issue, I will be monitored by the medical board and will continue to have tests done”.
Khalil was attacked by a resident of the condominium after an argument at the gym in the building last Thursday (17). The attacker, physical education teacher and martial arts instructor Henrique Paulo Sampaio Campos, 49, argued with the victim about a punching bag installed in the condominium gym.
“Right now I’m more concerned about my health and integrity, more than anything else, I still need to take care of my health, as I need follow-up,” said the journalist.
The journalist, who is the building’s administrator, had gone to the scene to inform that the punching bag should be removed because it was causing cracks in the ceiling. During the argument, Henrique punched the journalist. The fact was recorded by the security camera of the condominium gym.
The aggressor, who had not been located since the day of the argument, presented himself at the 21st Police Station, accompanied by a lawyer, but remained silent and said he would only manifest himself in court.
