TV Brasil was one of the winners of the national stage of the 12th edition of the Sebrae Journalism Award. The episode Business 60+, the power of experiencefrom the program Reporting Pathswon first place in the Video Journalism category. The awards ceremony was held on Thursday (4), at Espaço Alvorada, in Brasília (DF).
Produced by Carina Dourado, Patrícia Araújo, Sigmar Gonçalves, Rafael Calado and Márcio Stuckert, the report portrays the aging of the Brazilian population and the advancement of the so-called silver economy, also known as the longevity economy.
In Brazil, the 60+ population (15.6%) surpassed the number of young people between 15 and 24 years old (14.8%), according to IBGE. With more time ahead after retirement, entrepreneurship has gained strength in this age group: between 2012 and 2023, there was a 42% growth in the number of business owners over 60 years old.

The episode presents examples of entrepreneurs over 60 who reinvented themselves in the job market. It highlights the advantages of older entrepreneurs, such as resilience and experience, and the challenges they face.
