The program Reporting Pathsfrom the TV Brasilwas the winner of the 32nd edition of the Ecocine Festival, an international environmental cinema and human rights event. The episode Cafuringa, the last green frontier of the Federal Districtwon in the Best Medium-Length Documentary on the Environment category.
Aired in June 2023, the program revealed how the Cafuringa Environmental Protection Area (APA), located close to the federal capital, is still a place of preservation and good examples of care for the Cerrado. From initiatives to reintroduce animals seized from trafficking, to sustainable ecovillages and volunteer fire brigades in the region. Watch here to the episode.
The Cerrado is present in 14 states and the Federal District, it is home to more than 130 thousand springs, being one of the main sources of water in the country. Of the 12 river basins in Brazil, eight originate in the Cerrado.
