Ceará Championship
The 2026 Cearense Championship started on January 6th. The competition is divided into four phases: first phase, second phase, semi-finals and final.
In the first phase, the clubs were divided into two groups and faced each other within their own brackets, totaling four matches for each team. The top three in each group advanced to the second phase, while the last two competed in the Permanence Quadrangular. The classification was defined by the sum of points, with tiebreaker criteria based on victories, goal difference, goals scored and direct confrontation.
The second phase featured six teams divided into two new groups, which faced each other in single games. The top two from each group advanced to the semi-finals. The last teams will compete for 5th place, which guarantees a place in Series D of the 2027 Brazilian Championship.
The final phase was played in a knockout system. The semifinals took place in round-trip games, as will be the case in the final. In the event of a tie in the aggregate score of the final, the champion will be determined on penalties.
Ten teams participate in the championship: Ceará, Fortaleza, Floresta, Ferroviário, Iguatu, Maracanã, Tirol, Horizonte, Maranguape and Quixadá.
