Tupac Katari peasants join forces for the blockade against the Government that begins on Monday

Heavy transport, unions from El Alto and youth These are the three sectors that have joined the protest program that is being initiated by the peasant leadership of the 20 provinces led by David Mamani. The blockade will also be reinforced with marches by unions in the La Paz basin, according to the statement by the executive, Toño Siñani.

“We reject, We are not evistas, nor archists, nor of neoliberalismlikewise, as an organization, we are fighting today against the deep economic crisis that we are experiencing, against the rise in prices of the family basket, against the shortage of diesel and gasoline fuel, against misery, against poverty, unemployment, against social injustice,” harangued executive David Mamani in a joint conference with his allies.

Mamani promoted the road blockade after the Government ordered the repression of the peasants On September 3, when they arrived in La Paz to recover their headquarters, they held a meeting of the 20 provinces on September 7, in which they decided to begin the strike and road blockade on September 16. This Thursday, they obtained the support of other sectors to make their action more widespread.

“We ask our retired colleagues, doctors, union members, coca growers, civic committees, FEJUVES, Let’s all join the fight that our comrades from the 20 provinces are carrying out.because it is a reality that this government is not solving the issue of the family basket, the issue of the economy, the issue of fuel,” said leader Toño Siñani.

He explained that they, as union members will block the Government headquarters with a mobilization in the city of La Paz, while the farmers will begin their blockade on the department’s highways, a measure that already has the support of the transporters.

“Heavy transport is suffering a corralito in terms of bankingthere is no one to defend us from bank debts, that is why the mobilizations we have been undertaking since Monday, September 16, are fair and necessary,” said the representative of long-distance transporters.
