TSJ supervises the expert appraisal of electoral material

This Thursday, former candidates' appearances before the TSJ continue

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and president of the Electoral Chamber, magistrate Caryslia Rodríguez, announced on Thursday afternoon that the body she presides began supervising the appraisal of the electoral material submitted to the entity.

He indicated that on August 10, under judgment number 29, the Electoral Chamber issued a ruling ordering that all material of probative value, whether physical or digital, related to the presidential election process held on July 28, be examined.

In this regard, the magistrate said, the Electoral Chamber makes the following considerations:

1.- This Electoral Chamber carried out the supervision and control of the expert appraisal process of the material that is at the disposal of this judicial body and in the custody of the National Electoral Council, consigned by the CNE, the political organizations and the participating former candidates. Said expert appraisal is in the process of being carried out by a group of experts in electoral matters with the highest national and international technical and scientific standards, guaranteeing the highest level of technical and legal excellence, which will be done directly, personally and daily throughout the process.

2.- During the development of the expert report being carried out by the professional experts in the matter, this Electoral Chamber is in accordance with articles 7, 12 and 14 of the Code of Civil Procedure applicable to the present case by express reference to article 98 of the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice, in use of its broadest investigative powers in the search for truth and justice.

3.- Once this expert appraisal process has been completed within the peremptory time previously established by this Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, with these objective facts verified and certified, a final judgment will be issued on this electoral contentious appeal.

The magistrate continued by saying that the Supreme Court of Justice “deems it appropriate to reiterate its commitment and willingness to the Venezuelan people to dispense justice, so that nothing will stop us in our sacred mission.”
