TSJ resurrected the Single Agenda to reduce the delay in trials

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice, magistrate Gladys Gutiérrez, reactivated the Single Agenda, a planning mechanism among judicial operators that seeks to reduce the delay in judicial processes.

The information was disclosed on the twitter account of the country’s highest court @TSJ_Venezuelafrom where it is explained that the Single Agenda is a “technological mechanism to systematize the conduct of daily scheduled hearings in the nation’s criminal judicial circuits.”

A judicial source explained that the Single Agenda implies the weekly planning of trial hearings or the presentation of detainees to take place in a certain period, to avoid the absence of judges, prosecutors or public defenders in these procedural acts.

“Judge Gutiérrez highlighted the importance of the Single Agenda to reinforce adequate attention to the defendants, since the digitalization of judicial processes guarantees a fast, modern and efficient service, in compliance with the Magna Carta”, says the publication in Supreme Court networks.

In 2013, as president of the TSJ, Gutiérrez launched the Single Agenda. “For now, this tool will allow the hearings to be scheduled with an exact date (day and time), to avoid cross-hearings, and also to guarantee that they are carried out, in order to have a positive impact against the procedural delay,” he declared. on that occasion the magistrate.

“There is a significant number of lawsuits that are yet to be resolved, a little over 4,000,” Gutiérrez highlighted in July 2013.

Visit to the Judicial Palace

The reactivation of the Single Agenda was announced this Friday during a visit to the Palace of Justice in Caracas by Judge Gutiérrez, who also holds the presidency of the Constitutional Chamber of the TSK.

During the visit, Gutiérrez visited different areas to verify optimal operation, according to information published on the TSJ’s Twitter account.

In this activity, Judge Gutiérrez inaugurated Courts 16 and 17 of Execution, as well as Court 17 of Municipal Criminal Control, both in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Caracas.

“The inauguration of these new court headquarters contributes to guaranteeing access to justice, effective judicial protection and due process for the population,” says the publication.

The highest authority of the Judiciary likewise reactivated the Detention Area for Criminal Responsibility of Adolescents in the Palace of Justice of Caracas.

“The areas were refurbished from a security point of view, they are also spaces that guarantee respect for the human rights of the adolescents who are there,” explained Gutiérrez, who was accompanied by magistrates Elsa Gómez, Bárbara César and the president of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of Caracas, Cristóbal Cornielles, among others.
