The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice rejected an appeal filed to try to annul the sentence of 24 years, two months in prison, imposed on Jordán Antonio Martínez Borges after being found guilty of exercising continuous sexual violence against his three-year-old son. years old.
The criminal act was detected by the subject’s partner in the home they shared, located in the Los Manguitos sector, San Agustín, Caracas. On August 1, 2020, the woman noticed bruises on the child’s body as a result of a beating that the infant had suffered at the hands of his father.
When he was discovered, the man fled on January 23 and after several days in hiding, he surrendered to the Cicpc on August 5, 2020. Both the Court of Appeals of Caracas and the Criminal Chamber ratified said sentence, responding to the appeals filed by Martínez’s defense lawyers, as read in sentence 575 of the latter instance, written by magistrate Carmen Marisela Castro.
A similar decision was made by the Criminal Chamber regarding Alejandro Manuel Gil Reyes, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for continuous sexual violence, committed to the detriment of an eight-year-old girl, according to sentence 582.
These events occurred in Cabimas (Zulia), in March 2022. In August 2023, the 1st Trial Court of Zulia found the subject guilty and sentenced him to the maximum penalty. In both cases the magistrates dismissed the complaints of alleged irregularities in the trials of the accused.
