Tsitsipas seals the pass to the semifinals

The Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, number 5 in the world ranking, fulfilled the forecasts and certified his qualification for the semifinals of the Stockholm tournament, after beating the Swedish Mikael Ymer 7-5 and 6-3.

The Greek player, a Roland Garros finalist in 2021, used his greatest experience against Ymer, who was only able to win one of the eight break points he had in the first set.

Quite the opposite of Tsitsipas, the number one seed in the tournament, who took advantage of two of the six opportunities he had to break his rival’s serve and win the first round 7-5.

The Hellenic tennis player had fewer difficulties in the second set, in which he only needed to break the Swedish player’s serve once to win the set 6-3 and the ticket to the next round.

In the semifinals, Tsitsipas will face the winner of the match between the American Frances Tiafoe, third favorite of the tournament, and the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori.
