Tsitsipas and Zverev complete the semifinal draw in Madrid

Tsitsipas, number 5 in the world and fourth seed, beat Russian Andrey Rublev, 8th on the planet and sixth seed, in a complex match 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.

The Greek will meet Alexander Zverev for a place in the grand final, who in the ‘match’ that closed the quarterfinals beat Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (10th ATP) in straight sets: 6-4, 7- 5.

This Saturday the semifinal matches will be played in the men’s draw of the Madrid Open:

The first ‘semi’ will star the number 1 Novak Djokovic and the local Carlos Alcaraz.

The other match that will grant a ticket to the final round will have Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev as opponents.

In the middle of the two men’s semifinal matches, the final of the WTA 1000 Madrid will also be played this Saturday.

The Tunisian Ons Jabeur, 10th player on the planet, will face the American Jessica Pegula, number 12 in the ranking.

While Jabeur comes from defeating the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, Pegula did the same against the Swiss Jil Teichmann to reach the decisive match.
