The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) concluded today (24) the delivery of 4,100 ballots from the first round of elections to the Federal Audit Court (TCU). The documents are part of one of the TCU’s audit stages of the claim.
The audit work carried out by TCU technicians consists of analyzing the ballots, which are issued by the electronic voting machines at the end of the voting day and contain the data on the total number of votes. According to the auditors, to obtain a result of 99% certainty about the integrity of the bulletins, it is necessary to check the 4,000 documents.
The TCU’s audit of the results of the elections should be completed at the beginning of next year.
According to the court, the role of the Court of Auditors in the work of auditing the ballot boxes is intended to guarantee the reliability of public information passed on to society. The court is also part of the election transparency commission, a group that is chaired by the TSE.
