The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) received seven requests for registration of candidates for the presidency of the Republic. The requests are being filed since last week, after the approval of the names of the candidates in the party conventions.
The formality is necessary so that the Electoral Justice can verify if the candidates have any legal restrictions and cannot run in the October elections.
The first two records were from the candidates Pablo Marçal (Pros) and Sofia Manzano (PCB). Marçal nominated Fátima Pérola Neggra (Pros) as vice president. Sofia’s ticket will have Antonio Alves (PCB) as vice.
Then, the candidacy of Felipe D’Ávila (Novo) for the Presidency of the Republic was registered. As deputy, the name of Tiago Mitraud (New) was registered.
Léo Péricles, from União Popular (UP), also applied for registration with the TSE. The slate is made up of the candidate for vice, Samara Martins, from the same party. Pericles, 40, a mechanical technician, will have Samara Martins, a 34-year-old dentist as his deputy. Both were born in Belo Horizonte (MG). The candidate declared R$197.31 of equity, coming from a savings account. Samara Martins declared a total of R$3,364.55 in assets from savings and checking account values.
On Saturday (6), the candidacy of the former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The slate is made up of the candidate for vice, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB).
The TSE also received the senator’s candidacy registration request Simone Tebet (MDB-MS). Senator Mara Gabrilli (PSDB-SP) is the vice-presidential candidate.
The last request was filed by the PSTU, which nominated Vera Lúcia as a candidate for the presidency. The vice-presidential candidate is indigenous Raquel Tremembé (PSTU).
Officially, the election campaign, when candidates can effectively ask for votes and disclose their numbers, starts on August 16th. Application records must be made by August 15th.
For state, federal, district, senator and governor positions, registration is carried out in the regional electoral courts.
