Santo Domingo.- Judges of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) are part of the International Observation Mission (MOI) that will be as observers in the second round of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections in Colombia, which will take place this Sunday.
Judges Ygnacio Pascual Camacho Hidalgo, president of the TSE and co-president of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (UNIORE); and Pedro Pablo Yermenos, are part of the MOI, while Judge Rosa Pérez de García was appointed as Head of the Observation Mission of the Association of Electoral Judges of the Americas (AMEA).
Camacho Hidalgo and Yermenos Forastieri are part of the mission at the request of the Electoral Organization of Colombia, made up of the National Electoral Council and the National Registry of Civil Status.
The Presidency in Colombia is disputed this Sunday in the second round by Gustavo Petro and Rodolfo Hernández. Petro, obtained 40% of the votes on election day last Sunday, May 29, and Hernández 28%.
The magistrates will return on Monday after rendering a preliminary report on the electoral process.
