TSE concludes vote counting shortly after midnight

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) concluded at 0:18 am this Monday (31) the totaling of votes for president in the second round of elections. The last state to complete the investigation was Amazonas. TSE concludes vote counting shortly after midnight

Of the 156,454,011 voters eligible to vote, 124,252,796 went to the polls, 79.41% of the total. Abstention reached 32,200,558, representing 20.59%, informed the TSE. Null votes were 3,930,765 (3.16%). The blank votes totaled 1,769,678 (1.43%). In total, 472,075 polling stations were counted.

The result of the presidential election has had been mathematically confirmed last night (30). With the end of the count, former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was elected for the third time to the Palácio do Planalto. He received 60,345,999 votes (50.90% of valid votes). President Jair Bolsonaro, who was seeking re-election, received 58,206,354 votes (49.10% of valid votes).

Yesterday (30) the second round votes were also concluded in 12 states. In eight municipalities, there was also a supplementary election for mayor. All results can be seen at results page of the TSE and also in the Results app, available for cell phones on Android and iOS platforms.
