denunciations
If the voter receives any false news, he can report it through the Misinformation Alert System, created by the TSE and in operation since June 2022. This tool allows citizens to communicate to the Electoral Justice the receipt of false, decontextualized or manipulated news about the Brazilian electoral process. It is also possible to report phone numbers suspected of sending mass messages.
Complaints are forwarded to the TSE’s partner digital platforms in the Program to Combat Misinformation, to assess whether they represent violations of its terms of service. The objective is to ensure the rapid containment of the impact caused by the dissemination of these false contents on the internet. The reports received may also be forwarded to the Electoral Public Ministry and other authorities, who will adopt appropriate legal measures.
