The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) unanimously granted the registration of José Maria Eymael’s candidacy to the Presidency of the Republic today (8th). He enters the presidential race with the name of Constituent Eymael. The deputy on the ticket is economist João Barbosa Bravo, whose urn name is Professor Bravo. Both are from the Christian Democracy (DC) party, which does not have coalitions for this year’s election.
This is the sixth time that Eymael has run for president. The trial of his candidacy record was quick, as there were no challenges.
The rapporteur, Minister Carlos Horbach, joked with the fact that the campaign will feature, once again, the candidate’s famous jingle, created in 1985 and relaunched this year in funk rhythm.
“This decision guarantees the most traditional political jingle of the elections in this country”, joked Horbach, who was followed by all the other ministers of the TSE.
The Electoral Court has until September 12 to judge all of the more than 29,000 candidacy registration requests for the 2022 Elections. In addition to president, the positions of governor, senator, federal deputy and state or district deputy are disputed.
The TSE is responsible for judging the 12 applications for the presidency that were presented this year. So far, two have been denied: that of Roberto Jefferson, national president of the PTB, and that of Pablo Marçal, who intended to run for the Pros.
