Guadalajara, Jal., The general director of the National Agri-Food Council, Luis Fernando Haro, assured that there is no risk for the food industry in the country with the virtual victory of Donald Trump in the recent United States elections, given that both nations are complementary in this sector.

After participating in the Agri-Food Journalism Forum, Haro noted: I think that it is not in anyone’s best interest to not have a good relationship, otherwise we would both lose. In the agricultural sector, even more so because it is a food security issue..

Although the agri-food industry would not be affected, he recalled that the Mexican government has indicated that there will be a review where they will expose some issues not yet resolved regarding the T-MEC, such as immigration, organized crime, fentanyl trafficking and energy.
