Trump will declare drug cartels terrorist organizations

“This entire criminal network operating on American soil will be dismantled, deported and destroyed,” said Donald Trump this Sunday, December 22.

The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Sunday, December 22, that he will declare drug trafficking cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

During a forum of the ultraconservative organization Turning Point in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump asserted: “All foreign gang members will be expelled and I will immediately designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. I’ll do it right away.”

As spread EFETrump once again accused other countries of sending their “drug traffickers” to the United States.

In this sense, the Republican noted: “This entire criminal network that operates on American soil will be dismantled, deported and destroyed.”

Trump made these statements after commenting on the case of Aurora, a city in Colorado where, according to the president-elect, there is a presence of members of the transnational gang of Venezuelan origin Tren de Aragua.

Furthermore, the hard wing of the Republican Party has long asked to consider drug traffickers as terrorists and to intervene militarily in Mexican territory to combat them, a red line for the Government of Mexico, which warns that it will defend its sovereignty.

Trump insisted that Mexico must stop drug trafficking on the border.

«I was very hard on Mexico. “I spoke to the new president, a woman who was charming and wonderful, President Sheinbaum, a wonderful woman, but I told her: ‘You can’t do this to our country,'” he declared.

The Republican was referring to the call he had in November with Sheinbaum after having threatened 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada if their governments do not stop the arrival of migrants and drugs to the United States.

Trump noted that thousands of people die each year from drug overdoses, especially fentanyl, and stressed: “I have informed Mexico that this cannot continue.”

Likewise, he maintained that families are being destroyed “and we are going to stop it. “We are not going to allow that to happen.”

He announced that his Government will launch major advertising campaigns to warn citizens about the danger of drug use.
